VII FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE BUENOS AIRES

The FIBA born in 1997 as an exhibition space of the most important expressions of contemporary performing arts. Both national and international events had a special place in this festival, which was formed quickly in one of the largest in Latin America.

Every two years this event encapsulates the artistic diversity as expressed in the new aesthetic pursuits and trends in theater, dance, visual art and sound, etc.. The great innovators of theatrical and dance scene passed through Buenos Aires, enabling local artists to reflect on their own production and the general public the pleasure of high quality works.

In addition to international programming, the FIBA has had a varied selection of national events that have been exhibited and thence projected onto the international stage.

Since its inception, the FIBA became a resounding success with sold-out audiences for nearly all functions, confirming the City of Buenos Aires as one of the capitals of the world's most theatrical activity. Thus, in each edition of the FIBA we challenge ourselves to return to surprise the visitors and local artists to develop and improve the quality of our creative arts.

In the 2009 edition of the FIBA has Artistic Direction and Ruben Alberto Ligaluppi Szuchmacher.
